Prayag Engineering Works

We've been here at Unit No. 12 in Navghar for some time now. It’s a busy spot in the Dewan & Sons Industrial Estate. Most days start early with the machines warming up and the shop floor getting busy. We handle various engineering jobs that come our way from all over the area. Sometimes the floor is messy with metal shavings and oil, but that's just part of the daily work here. People from around Vasai Road (E) know where to find us when they have a problem. We don't have a fancy front office or anything with air conditioning. It’s just us and the lathes. If you walk past Est. No. 6, you’ll probably hear the noise of the grinders. The guys here have been doing this for years, so they know their way around a blueprint or a broken part. It’s a straightforward shop. We deal with whatever project is on the bench today without making a big deal of it. Sometimes it’s small parts for a local factory, sometimes it’s bigger repairs that take a few days. We don't spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty on paper for no reason. Most of our day is spent actually making things with our hands. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer months, but we just keep at it. Navghar is a good area for this kind of work because everyone else is doing something similar nearby. We just keep our heads down and get the orders out.
