Rawat Steel Ind. is based at B-24 in New Multan Nagar. We are right across from Paschim Vihar, so there is always a lot of traffic passing by. Our yard is where most of the action happens. We have various types of steel lying around, and it can look a bit chaotic to someone who doesn't work here. To us, it’s all organized in its own way. The office is just a small room at the front with a couple of chairs that have seen better days. We don't have a lot of visitors who aren't here for business, so we don't worry much about how the place looks. The sun beats down on the yard in the summer, making the metal hot to the touch. We all wear heavy gloves to protect our hands. It’s physical work and it can be tiring, but it's what we know. We don't have a mission statement or any of those corporate slogans. We just get the steel weighed, loaded, and sent off to wherever it needs to go. Sometimes the trucks are late and we end up sitting around the office talking about cricket or the local news until they arrive. It’s a straightforward life. We focus on the inventory we have and make sure the orders are correct before they leave the gate. It’s nothing more and nothing less than that.
