Our place is at 19/267 in Basti Sarai Rohilla, right near the Daya Basti area. It’s a bit of a maze back here, with narrow lanes and lots of small factories packed together in every building. We’ve been operating out of this particular unit for quite a long time now. It’s a family-run sort of thing that has been passed down through a couple of hands over the years. We do a bit of everything when it comes to small-scale manufacturing and fabrication. The machines are getting old, but they work just fine if you know exactly how to treat them. During the day, the general noise of the neighborhood is just a constant background hum that we don't even hear. We spend a lot of time just managing the raw materials that come in on the small handcarts. It’s a very local, small-scale operation. We know all the shopkeepers next door and we share the same water tap in the alley. Sometimes the dust from the street gets to be a bit much, so we keep the industrial fans on full blast all day. There’s no big corporate hierarchy or fancy titles here. If something breaks down, I’m usually the one fixing it with a greasy wrench. We just try to keep the orders moving so the customers stay happy and keep coming back to us. It’s a simple way to live, working with your hands every day.
