We started this tiffin place in Rohini Sector 3 because we saw so many people coming to the city for work who didn’t have any time to cook for themselves. It’s mostly just home style food, nothing like what you get in a restaurant. My mother used to do most of the cooking at first, and then we hired a couple of people to help us out as more neighbors started asking for meals. We pack the boxes every morning and afternoon right here. It's nothing fancy, just your basic dal, rice, and roti. We try to keep everything clean and use fresh vegetables we get from the mandi nearby. Sometimes the delivery gets a bit delayed if the traffic in Rohini is bad, but we do what we can to get it there while it’s still warm. People around here know us for that simple, everyday taste. We don't use too much oil or heavy spices because we actually eat the same food ourselves at the end of the day. It’s just a small kitchen setup, not a big factory. We have a few guys on cycles who know the shortcuts around the sector. It’s been a few years now and we’re still going. We started with five customers and now the list is longer, but we still treat every tiffin the same. It is busy work, especially around lunch time, but it feels good to see the empty boxes coming back every evening when people are finished with their food.
