Jay Kay International

Jay Kay International is tucked away at A-73 in the Wazirpur Industrial Area. It’s a busy spot, like most of the places around here. We deal with a lot of different things, mostly stuff going out to other places. The office isn't much to look at, just some desks and a lot of filing cabinets that are probably too full. I spend a lot of time looking at shipping labels and talking to the guys in the warehouse area. Wazirpur has this smell of metal and grease that sticks to your clothes, and we are right in the middle of it. Sometimes the neighbors come by to complain about where a truck is parked, and we have to go out and move it. It’s just the daily routine. We’ve had the same tea guy coming by for ten years now, and he knows exactly how everyone likes it. The phone rings a lot, usually someone asking where their package is or if we have a certain item in stock. We aren’t a huge operation, just a few of us trying to keep everything organized. It gets a bit overwhelming when three deliveries show up at once and there’s no room on the floor. We just push things around and make it fit. It’s a bit of a puzzle every day, but we manage. No one wears a suit here, it’s just jeans and shirts that don’t mind a bit of dirt and dust.
