Working on the 6th floor of Block C in the NDMC building at Netaji Subhash Place is a bit different from being on the ground floor. Janak Steel Tubes Pvt. Ltd. has a decent view of the area, though we spend most of our time looking at order sheets and talking on the phone. Netaji Subhash Place is always buzzing with people, especially during lunch hours when everyone comes out of the office buildings. It can be a bit of a wait for the elevators some mornings, but you get used to it. We deal with steel tubes all day long, which sounds simple enough, but there’s a lot of coordination involved. We aren't a massive corporation with thousands of employees. We are just a few people in a mid-sized office trying to keep everything moving smoothly. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks or the internet goes slow, and we all just have to deal with it. It’s a professional environment but we keep it pretty relaxed among ourselves. We don't use a lot of corporate jargon here. We just talk like regular people and try to solve problems as they come up. The commute can be a bit of a pain depending on where everyone is coming from, but once we are here, we get into the rhythm of the day. It’s a steady pace, and we’ve been doing this long enough to know the ropes. We just try to keep things organized and get through the pile of work. It’s not always exciting, but it’s what we do, and we’ve been at it for years.
