J K Steel is located over in Rohini Sector-16, specifically at Plot No.C-1/315 on Street No.9. This part of Ashok Vihar always feels busy, with people constantly moving around and small businesses squeezed into every corner. Our shop is just one of many, filled with stacks of steel that seem to reach the ceiling sometimes. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside, especially when we have a new shipment coming in and the workers are trying to organize everything. We spend a lot of time counting stock and moving heavy pipes or sheets from one side to the other. It’s not very quiet here because of the street noise and the clanging of metal. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but our little spot stays mostly the same. There’s a tea stall just down the street where we usually go when we need a break from the dust. We don't have any fancy brochures or a big sales team. Usually, it’s just someone coming in from the street or a regular who knows where we are. Dealing with steel is heavy, dirty work, and we don’t try to pretend it’s anything else. Most days we are just focused on getting the orders loaded onto the rickshaws or small trucks. It’s a plain, straightforward way to make a living in this part of Delhi. We just open up the gate and start the work.
