Tiswadi Taluka Farmers Producer Companylimited is located on Divar Island, at Goltim. Our place is House No. 86/A/G. To get to us, you usually have to take the ferry, which definitely slows things down, but in a good way. It gives you a bit of time to look at the river and the birds before you start the workday. Divar is a peaceful place, much different from the rush of Panjim just across the water. We are a group of farmers who decided to work together to make things a bit easier for everyone in the taluka. The house we use as an office is an old one, with thick walls that keep it relatively cool even when the sun is beating down outside. We spend a lot of our time sitting around the big wooden table, talking about what to plant or how to get a better price for what we grow. There’s always someone dropping by with a question or just to share some news from their own plot of land. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don’t have any fancy software or big machines in the office, just some notebooks, a computer that works most of the time, and a lot of patience for the process. The pace of life here is tied to the ferry schedule and the natural seasons, and we’re quite happy with that way of working. We just keep things moving slowly but surely.
