It’s a lot quieter out here than in the coastal towns or the city, which suits the kind of work we do every day. Being farmers at heart, we spend a lot of our time thinking about the weather and the condition of the soil. The office is really just a place for us to keep the records and meet up when we need to plan for the next few months. We aren't big on decorations; it's mostly just functional furniture and some maps of the local plots hanging on the walls. The dust gets everywhere in the dry season, so we’re always wiping down the desks before we can even start our morning. It’s a small operation, just a few of us trying to make sure the farming side of things runs as smoothly as it can. We don’t have any big corporate goals or anything like that, we just want to make sure the work gets done and the crops are handled correctly. Some days are long, especially when there’s a lot to harvest or plant, and we end up staying late under the dim lights of the office. It’s a quiet life, but it’s what we know.
