This Bharti Axa Life Insurance office is situated in Shankarwaditaligao, specifically in the Adwalkarpalkar Homes complex. It's a bit quieter here than the main parts of Panjim, which is nice for getting work done without too much noise. We are in house number Fs1. The area has a lot of trees and feels more like a neighborhood than a business district. Inside, the space is pretty straightforward. We have our computers set up and a table where we can spread out all the forms we have to process. The air conditioning is almost always running because the Goa heat can be quite something during the middle of the day. We see a mix of people coming in, mostly locals from the Taligao area who have questions about their accounts. Sometimes we have to wait for the power to come back on after a rainstorm, but that’s just part of living here. We usually bring our own lunch and eat together in the small kitchen area. It’s a very relaxed environment, not like those big corporate buildings in the city. We know the security guard at the gate and the neighbors who live in the same block. It’s a comfortable place to spend the day. We spend hours looking at screens and filing papers away in the metal cabinets. It’s simple, honest work and we just take things one day at a time. The garden outside the window has some nice plants that we look at when we need a break from the screen.
