Yusuf & Sons

If you know Chawri Bazar, you know how packed it gets around Chitla Gate. We are right there at number 448. It is an old building and we have been operating out of it for a long time. Yusuf & Sons and the rest of us are usually inside sorting through whatever stock we have on hand. The streets outside are always full of rickshaws and people carrying heavy loads on their shoulders. It’s a loud place but it has a rhythm to it that we like. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with items and sometimes it feels like we are running out of room but we always find a spot for new things. There is a lot of history in these walls even if they look a bit worn down now. We don't have fancy air conditioning or big signs out front. People just know where 448 is and they come looking for us when they need something. We drink a lot of tea while we talk to customers and neighbors who stop by. Chawri Bazar is a place where everyone is trying to make a living and we are just one part of that. We take pride in just being here every day and keeping the family name going. It’s hard work in the heat and the crowd but this is where we belong and we wouldn’t really know what to do anywhere else. We just open up early and stay late to get things sorted.
