Vikas Diamond Co. is located right in the middle of Kucha Mahajani in Chandni Chowk. If you have ever been to this part of Old Delhi, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many people are always moving around. It is a very old area with a lot of history in the jewelry trade. We have been working from here for a long time. Our space isn't huge, but it's where everything happens. We spend our days looking at diamonds and talking to people who come through the Kucha. It’s a noisy place with a lot of shouting and bells ringing from the rickshaws outside. We don’t have a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a traditional setup in a traditional market. We deal with the stones, check the quality, and keep our records straight. The air in Chandni Chowk always smells like street food and dust, and we’ve grown to like it over the years. We start early because the market gets packed very fast. By the afternoon, it’s hard to even walk on the street. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It is a simple life of buying and selling and making sure the business keeps running. Being in Kucha Mahajani means we are surrounded by people who have been doing this for generations. We are just one of those shops trying to do honest work every day and staying busy.
