New Bombay Barbeque

New Bombay Barbeque is in the Central Market at Prashant Vihar in Delhi. We are at shop number D 73, right near the PVR Cinemas. In the evenings, the whole block smells like charcoal because we are busy at the grill. It is a small shop, so most of the room is taken up by the cooking area. When the weather is nice, we put some tables out on the pavement so people can sit in the open air. Friday and Saturday nights are usually very hectic with families coming out after seeing a movie. We don’t use any electric grills or fancy ovens. Everything we make is done over real coals. It takes a bit longer to cook that way, but the flavor is much better. Sometimes the smoke gets into the seating area, but our customers don’t seem to care much. We are just a local spot for the neighborhood. My cousins help me run the place and we keep things very casual. We use paper plates and plastic forks because it is easier and keeps the prices down for everyone. We don’t have a fancy menu with a hundred items. We just do a few things that we know how to make well.
