Versatile

Versatile is the name of our shop located at Shop No. 1 on Qutub Road Chowk in the Sadar Bazar area. If you have ever visited Sadar Bazar before, then you already know just how packed and busy it gets every single day. We are right near the Amar Aashram Mandir, so there are always lots of people moving past our front entrance. We have a lot of different items packed into a very small area because space is very hard to come by in this part of Delhi. It can be quite overwhelming with the constant noise of the rickshaws and the huge crowds outside on the street. Inside the shop, we just try to keep things moving as best as we can. We do not really have one specific specialty; we just handle whatever stock we happen to have on the shelves at the time. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, and we often have to use a tall ladder just to reach things for the customers. It is a very old building, so the walls are not exactly straight and the floor is a bit uneven in places. We start our day very early in the morning when the trucks are unloading nearby, and we do not really stop working until quite late at night. Sometimes it gets so crowded inside the shop that people just have to wait their turn outside on the pavement. We do not have any fancy air conditioning in here, just the breeze coming through the open door.
