Umesh Halwai & Caterers

Umesh Halwai & Caterers is found on Gopal Nagar Main Dhasa Road. This is a busy road with a lot of trucks and cars passing by all day. We have a shop where we sell sweets, but a lot of our work happens in the big kitchen area where we prepare food for events. When there is a wedding or a large gathering in the area, you will see us with the huge pots and burners going full blast. It is a lot of heavy lifting and long hours over the heat. We do not have a fancy office for meetings; we usually just talk to people over the counter or while we are working in the back. The shop itself is simple and practical. We keep the basic sweets and snacks that the local people like to buy on their way home. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so everyone chips in when it gets busy. We don't have a marketing strategy or a polished look. We just know how to cook for large groups and how to keep the shop running. Some days the dust from the road is a bit much, but we just keep cleaning and keep cooking. It’s been our way of life for a long time now, and we just keep at it every day on Dhasa Road. Sometimes we have to handle three events in one weekend, and that means we are barely sleeping. But we have a good team of cooks who have been with us through all the busy seasons. We just get the work done and hope the food is ready on time for the guests.
