Surgical Enterprises

We’ve been here at 1521 Chandni Chowk for quite a while now. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how crowded it gets with the rickshaws and everyone rushing around. Our shop, Surgical Enterprises, is right in the middle of all that noise. It isn’t some fancy showroom. It’s mostly just us handling boxes and making sure the supplies get where they need to go. Most days, we’re just busy checking inventory or talking to people who drop in looking for specific medical tools. The building is old, and the stairs are narrow, but it’s home for us. Sometimes the tea guy comes by twice before we even get a chance to sit down. We don’t really do much advertising. People usually find us because they’ve been coming here for years or someone told them we have what they need. It gets pretty dusty with all the traffic outside, so we’re always wiping down the glass counters. There’s always a pile of invoices on the desk that never seems to get smaller. We just keep at it, day after day. It's a simple operation. We open up early, deal with the deliveries, and try to get home before the evening traffic becomes a total nightmare. It’s a lot of work, but being in the heart of the market feels right. We know the neighbors and the other shopkeepers, and that makes the long hours a bit easier to manage. Every box that comes in has a place, even if the place is just a stack in the corner for a few hours.
