Speedway Surgical Co., Delhi

Walking into the M. J. Building at Bhagirath Palace can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't used to the crowds. Speedway Surgical Co., Delhi has been tucked away here at 1586/31 for quite some time. The building itself is one of those old Delhi structures where the hallways are narrow and the ceiling fans never seem to stop spinning. We handle a lot of different surgical supplies and most of the day is spent checking boxes or writing out slips by hand. It’s always noisy outside because of the market, with people shouting and bells ringing on cycles. Inside, we just try to keep everything in its right place on the shelves. The light isn't the best in the back room, so we use a desk lamp when we’re looking at the smaller parts. Sometimes the delivery guys have a hard time finding us because there are so many shops squeezed together. We mostly just keep to ourselves and get the orders ready as they come in. Lunch is usually whatever we brought from home, eaten quickly at the main table before the next person walks in. It isn't a glamorous setup, but it’s our spot and it works for what we do. By the time evening rolls around, we’re usually pretty tired, but there is always something left to organize for the next morning. That’s just life in Bhagirath Palace.
