Sonal Steel

Up on the first floor at A-131 in Wazirpur, things stay pretty busy. We deal in steel, which is heavy and hard to move sometimes, especially when the stairs are narrow. It’s been our spot for a few years now. The space is a bit cramped with all the sheets and rods piled up, but we know where everything is. Usually, you’ll find one of us drinking tea near the desk while the others are checking the inventory. Wazirpur is a crowded area, so getting trucks in and out is always a bit of a headache. We just deal with it. We sell to whoever walks in, whether they want a lot or just a few pieces for a small project. There’s no big sales team here, just us. Sometimes the phone rings too much and we can’t get to it fast enough. The air always smells like cut metal and oil. It’s not a place for nice clothes. We focus on getting the measurements right so nobody has to come back to complain. Most days are long and the lighting inside isn't great, but the work gets done. We've seen neighbors come and go, but Sonal Steel is still right here in the same spot. It’s just a regular business. We keep the ledger books on the shelf and try to keep the dust off them. That is about all there is to tell.
