Ambica Steels Ltd.

Over at Plot No. C-54/1, you’ll find the site for Ambica Steels Ltd. It’s a heavy-duty kind of place. Steel isn't light, and neither is the work we do here. We have large stacks of metal beams and sheets sitting in the yard, waiting to be moved or cut. The sound of metal hitting metal is pretty much the soundtrack to our days. We don't have a fancy office or a lobby with chairs. There is just a small room with a desk where we keep the logs and the phone. Most of our guys have been working with steel for most of their lives. They know the difference between grades just by looking at them. We don't spend money on commercials or big signs. If you need steel, you usually know where to find us. We deal with a lot of construction projects and smaller workshops that need raw materials. Sometimes the crane gets stuck or a delivery is late because of traffic, but we manage. We aren't corporate types; we’re more comfortable in our work boots than in a tie. We just focus on the inventory and making sure the cuts are as close to the mark as possible. It’s a straightforward business without any hidden extras. We show up, move the steel, and get it ready for the next truck. Sometimes the rain slows things down because we have to cover the stock, but that’s just life in this trade.
