Shivam Metal Industries

Shivam Metal Industries is right in the middle of the chaos of Chandni Chowk. We are on the ground floor of Plot No. 40 in Raghushree Market, down in Kucha Tiku Shah. If you’ve ever been to Main Bazaar, you know how tight the lanes are and how many people are moving around. We deal with metal goods, so it can get pretty loud in our shop with things being moved and stacked. The space isn't huge, but we use every inch of that ground floor. It’s an old market, and our building has seen a lot of history. We spend our days talking to suppliers and showing customers what we have in stock. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and paperwork, but we’ve been doing it long enough that it’s just second nature now. There’s always the smell of metal and old paper in the air. We don't have a website or anything like that; people usually just find us by walking through the market or hearing about us from other traders in the metal business. It’s a gritty, busy way to make a living, but there’s nowhere else quite like Chandni Chowk. We start work early before the crowds get too thick and usually stay until the sun goes down and the market starts to quiet down a little bit. It's a tough environment but we have made our peace with the noise and the constant movement of the bazaar.
