Sharma Caterers & Namkeen

Sharma Caterers & Namkeen has been in Noida Rana Market for a good while now. Every morning starts pretty early here because the namkeen needs to be ready before the main crowd arrives. It’s a busy spot, especially when the weather is nice and people are out walking through the market. We spend a lot of time just organizing the packets on the shelves and making sure the kitchen area is clean. Sometimes the tea stall next door gets so loud we can hardly hear each other, but that is just how it is in Rana Market. The floor usually needs a sweep every couple of hours because of all the dust from the street. It’s just me and a few guys in the back mostly. We don’t really do much fancy stuff, just keep the snacks stocked up. People stop by on their way home from work to grab something for tea. It gets a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at once, but we manage. The signs outside are starting to fade a bit from the sun, but everyone knows where we are. We try to keep the glass counters wiped down so the food looks okay. It is a lot of work keeping up with the orders for parties too. Some days are just constant frying and packing until late evening. There is always a pile of empty boxes out back that need to be moved.
