Shamli Wala

Shamli Wala is right in the thick of things at Vi-1731, Lal Kuan Main Bazar. If you know the bazar, you know how crowded and loud it gets. It is a real experience just getting to the door. We have been here for a long time, and the shop is packed with stuff. There isn't much room to move around, but that is just how these old bazar shops are. We deal with all sorts of items, mostly whatever the local trade needs. The walls are lined with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. We use a ladder to reach the top ones. It is dusty and noisy, and there is always someone shouting or a horn honking outside. But we like the energy of the market. We don't have a website or any of that new stuff; we just open the doors and talk to whoever walks in. Our regulars know us by name, and we know them. Sometimes we sit on small stools and drink tea while waiting for customers. It’s a very old-school way of doing things. There are no fancy lights or displays here. Just the goods and us. It is hard work, especially when it’s hot, but this is where we belong. The bazar has its own rhythm. We keep our books by hand in large ledgers. It's a bit slow, but it's how we've always done it.
