Satish Steel Industries is located in Hauz Qazi, at number 3383 on Hakim Baqa Street. If you know Old Delhi, you know how narrow and busy these streets are. It’s a very old area and we have been here for a long time. We deal in steel products. Our space is quite tight because of the location. We have to be very careful with how we stack our inventory. The street is always crowded with rickshaws and people carrying loads. It’s a very traditional way of doing business here. We don't have big machines; it’s more about trading and small-scale processing. Most of our customers are from the surrounding markets. We spend our day managing the stock and talking to regular buyers. It’s a lot of manual work, moving pipes and sheets around. The building itself is old, with high ceilings and small rooms. We don't have air conditioning, just some ceiling fans that struggle in the summer. It’s a noisy, lively place to work. You won't find any corporate slogans on our walls. We just have our ledgers and some basic furniture. Business here is built on long-term relationships. We know our neighbors and the other shopkeepers on Hakim Baqa Street. It’s a very different world from the modern industrial parks. We just keep moving the steel and keeping the business going year after year without any fuss.
