Sachiv Tea & Co.

If you head down to Khari Baoli and look for Gali Hinga Beg, you will find Sachiv Tea & Co. at number 2282/2. Tilak Bazar is always a bit of a mess with all the carts and people pushing through, but that is where we have been for years. The shop is tucked away in an old building that has seen better days, but it holds a lot of tea. We don't have a polished showroom or any of that. It is mostly just sacks of tea piled up and a small desk where we handle the books. The air always smells like spice and tea leaves because of the market. My father started this business in this very alley, and I just took over when he couldn't do the heavy lifting anymore. We don't spend money on ads or flyers. Most of our customers have been coming to this same spot in the bazaar for decades. It gets quite hot in the summer, and the alley is narrow, so deliveries can be a real headache. Still, we manage to get the tea out to whoever needs it. It’s a lot of manual labor, checking the quality of the leaves, and making sure the weights are right. We aren't trying to be some massive company. We just want to keep the shop running and stay part of the Tilak Bazar community for as long as we can.
