Rastogi General Store

Rastogi General Store has been at 1022/1397 in Maliwara for a good while now. Being in Chandni Chowk means you never have a quiet moment. The lanes are so thin that two people can barely pass each other, but somehow the business keeps moving. I stock the usual things people need for their homes. Soap, tea leaves, some snacks, and whatever else is in demand this week. I start the day by sweeping the front and arranging the jars on the shelves. It’s a lot of work to keep everything organized when you have so many small items. The walls are lined with stuff from floor to ceiling. Customers come in looking for specific things, and usually, I know exactly which corner it’s hidden in. My family has been around this area, so we know a lot of the faces that walk by. Sometimes it gets hot and the air doesn't move much in these old buildings. We just keep the small fan running. It’s not a fancy supermarket, just a local spot where you can get what you need without much fuss. Dealing with wholesalers and getting new stock through the crowded streets is always a challenge. You have to time it right or the handcarts get stuck. I spend a lot of time just sitting and watching the world go by when it's not too busy. It’s a decent life in a very old part of town.
