About Panna Lal & Sons – Fashion & Trends in North Delhi
Panna Lal & Sons has been sitting in Kinari Bazar for a long time. If you have ever walked through Chandni Chowk, you know how tight the lanes are. Our shop at 2048 is right in the middle of all that chaos. It is a small space, packed with boxes from floor to ceiling. Most days, you can barely see the walls. We have been part of this market through many generations. The street outside is always full of people looking for wedding laces and borders, and the noise is something you just get used to after a few years. We open the shutters early, usually around ten, and wait for the morning crowd. The air smells like old wood and street food from the vendors nearby. It gets very hot in the summer, so we have a small fan that just moves the warm air around. We spend a lot of time counting stock and talking to the other shopkeepers nearby. There is a certain way things work in Kinari Bazar that you won't find in a modern mall. You have to be patient with the traffic and the narrow paths. We don't change much around here; the shelves are the same ones my grandfather used. People come in, they ask for what they need, and we dig through the stacks to find it. It is a slow process sometimes, but that is just how it is. We stay busy until the sun sets and the market lights come on and it is time to pack up for home.
