Padmawati Metal

We’ve been over here at Plot No. 10 in Raghushree Market for quite a while now. Most people know the Ajmeri Gate area is always crowded, so getting stuff in and out takes some patience. It’s just how things work around here. We deal with metal mostly, stacks of it everywhere in the shop. My father started this because he knew the trade, and I just sort of stayed on to keep it running. It isn’t fancy. We have a couple of guys who help with the heavy lifting and making sure orders get sorted right. Sometimes the dust gets a bit much, but that is the nature of the job. People come by asking for specific sizes or types of metal, and we do our best to find what they need in the back. The market has changed a lot since we first opened our doors. More shops have come up, and the traffic is definitely worse. But we like the routine of it. Every morning we open up, have some tea, and check what needs to go out that day. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. Most folks just find us because they’re already in the market or someone told them we have a good stock. It’s a basic setup, just a lot of hard work and keeping track of the inventory. We stay busy enough to keep the lights on. It's not glamorous, but it pays the bills.
