Oriental Metal Industries

Oriental Metal Industries is located at 4932 Baratooti, right in the thick of Sadar Bazar. We work with metal, as you might have guessed. The shop is filled with various items, from small parts to larger pieces, depending on what we’re focusing on that month. Baratooti is a busy area, so there’s always someone shouting or a horn honking outside our door. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, except for the sound of metal clinking together. We aren't a big factory with hundreds of workers. It’s just a few of us who know the trade. We deal with suppliers and wholesalers mostly, but local people stop by too. The space is a bit cramped because metal takes up a lot of room and it's heavy to move around. We don't have any shiny brochures or a fancy mission statement. We just open up in the morning, check our inventory, and see who needs what. Sometimes we have to hunt through the back to find a specific piece someone is looking for. It’s a bit disorganized at times, but we manage. The business has been here for years, and the walls are stained with the marks of time. We like the history of the place. It’s not about being the biggest; it’s about staying open and providing what the market needs. It’s a practical business for a practical part of town. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily metal trade.
