Nizam Pan Corner

Nizam Pan Corner is tucked away at number 2152 in the Dariba Kalan area, right near Turkman Gate on Asaf Ali Road. If you know Chandni Chowk, you know how it is. It’s always loud, there’s always someone shouting, and the traffic never seems to stop. We’ve been sitting in this little corner for a long time, watching the world go by from behind our counter. The shop is small, really just enough room for the jars of ingredients and the leaves we need. We don’t have air conditioning or anything fancy like that. In the summer, we just use a small fan and hope for a breeze. People stop by for all sorts of reasons. Some want a pan after a heavy meal, others just want a bit of tobacco or something small. We know the regulars by their faces even if we don't know all their names. It’s a very old part of the city, and the building reflects that. The stone is worn down and the streets are narrow. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We’re just a local pan shop. We spend our day preparing the leaves and making sure everything is ready for the evening rush when people are heading home from work. It’s a simple way to make a living, and it keeps us busy. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights. You just have to know where to find us. It's just how business has always been around here in this part of town.
