Nirula'S

Working at the Kashmere Gate metro station is different because everything is so fast. This Nirula'S is at Parsvnath Metro Mall, right at 14 A. You can feel the vibration of the trains under your feet if you stand still long enough. People are always in a rush here. They grab a quick bite or a drink while looking at their watches. We don’t see many people sitting down for a long chat. It’s more about speed. We try to keep the counter clear and the orders moving so nobody misses their connection. The station is always noisy with the announcements and the sound of thousands of feet on the floor. It can be a bit draining by the end of the shift. We spend a lot of time restocking the cold cabinets because the drinks sell fast. The space we have is quite tight, so we have to be organized or we’ll just be bumping into each other. Sometimes the metro gates get jammed or there’s a crowd because of a delay, and suddenly we have fifty people at once. It’s a bit of a scramble then. We just focus on the orders and try not to get flustered. The floor gets dirty quickly with all the commuters walking in, so the mop is never really put away. It’s just how it is at a transit hub like this. We stay busy until the last train.
