Nikita Sarees

Our shop, Nikita Sarees, is located at Shop No 4197 in the Jogiwara area of Nai Sarak. This part of Delhi is very old and the lanes are quite narrow, so it feels very traditional. We have been selling sarees here for a long time. The shop is filled with different types of sarees from floor to ceiling. It can look a bit overwhelming when you first walk in because there is so much fabric everywhere. We don't have fancy mannequins or bright display windows like the big malls do. We just have our counters and the shelves where we keep the goods. Nai Sarak is known for its shops, and we are just one of the many small businesses here. Usually, it is just family members working the shop. We know our stock well, so if someone asks for a specific color or pattern, we can usually pull it out from the pile pretty quickly. The building is old and has a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit steep. We don't go in for big sales or loud promotions. We just show the sarees for what they are and let the cloth speak. Customers often sit down on the stools we have while we unfold the sarees for them to see. It’s a slow process sometimes, but that is how it’s done here. We enjoy the daily routine of the market.
