Navshakti Platers

Our shop is out in Narela, specifically at F-1921. Being in an industrial area like this means you deal with a lot of dust and noise from sunrise to sunset. Navshakti Platers isn't a big name you’ll see on billboards. We are just a small unit where the focus is on the work at hand. The plating process takes time and patience. You have to get the timing right with the chemicals or the whole batch is ruined. We spend our days leaning over the tanks and checking the finish on different parts. The building itself is basic—concrete floors and high ceilings to let the heat out. Delhi weather can be brutal, so we have some big industrial fans that keep the air moving, though they don't do much when it’s 45 degrees outside. We take our breaks together, usually sitting on plastic chairs near the entrance to catch whatever breeze there is. There’s a lot of camaraderie in Narela among the shop owners. We help each other out if a machine breaks or if someone needs a hand with a heavy load. It’s a simple life focused on the daily grind. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just show up, do the plating, and go home tired. The work is physical and sometimes the days feel long, but we have a good rhythm going and we know what we are doing.
