Mehra Sarees

Mehra Sarees is located at 4934 Kucha Ustad Dag, which is a specific little lane in the bigger Chandni Chowk neighborhood. Being in a kucha means the space is tight and you have to navigate through some small alleys to find us. We have been working out of this location for a good while, and the walls are lined with boxes and bundles of sarees. It’s a very practical setup. We spend the mornings clearing out the dust and getting the items ready, though the displays are just what we have available at the moment. There isn't any big marketing plan here; we just show people what we have when they come in. The area is old and has a lot of history, which shows in the buildings and the way the shops are built right next to each other. It can get pretty loud with all the rickshaws and people moving about outside, but inside we just focus on the fabrics. Sometimes we have to move twenty boxes just to get to one particular saree at the bottom, which is just part of the daily grind. We are just a small group of people working here every day. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until we close up at night. There’s nothing too complicated about how we run Mehra Sarees at this address. We just focus on the day-to-day tasks that need doing.
