You can find Bhawani Shanker & Sons at 495 in the Bartan Market area of Sadar Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Sadar Bazar, you know it’s a crowded, noisy, and busy place. Our shop is right in the middle of all that action. We deal with various items, mostly what you’d expect in a market known for household goods. The space is a bit tight because we have to fit a lot of stock in. It’s a family-style setup where everyone chips in. We don't have a big HR department or corporate policies. We just open up in the morning and start serving whoever walks through the door. It can get very loud with the porters and shoppers outside. We’ve learned to talk over the noise. It’s an old way of doing business, but it still works for us. We know our customers by name often. There is a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. It is a physical job. We don't have time for fancy marketing or polish. The floor is usually covered with packing materials, and we are always looking for more shelf space. It’s a bit messy, but it’s a real place where real trade happens every day. We just keep doing what we’ve always done.
