Maruti Steel Udyog

Our place is in the basement at B-70/2 in Wazirpur. It stays pretty cool down there even when it is burning hot outside in the summer. Maruti Steel Udyog has been in this industrial area for a good while now. It gets very noisy because of all the steel being moved around. We have machines that cut and bend the metal into the shapes we need. The lights are those long tubes that flicker sometimes. Wazirpur is always packed with trucks and lorries. You can hear them driving upstairs all day long. We deal with steel sheets and heavy rods mostly. The floor gets messy with the little scraps, so we have to sweep up every evening before we lock the gate. Usually, it is just a few of us doing all the heavy lifting. We don't have a website or fancy stuff. People just know where we are. B-70/2, Basement, Wazirpur Industrial Area is the address on our cards. If you come by, you might have to wait if we are busy loading a truck. The tea stall on the corner is where we go for our breaks. We talk about the work and how the traffic is getting worse. It is a simple life. No big meetings or suits. Just metal and measurements. Sometimes we get a measurement wrong and have to start over. Steel is heavy and our hands are always dirty. We don't mind.
