M. I. Plast

M. I. Plast is located at 71/2, over by Vijayanagar North Post. We are right near the Swayamprabha Kalyana Mantap in Kamakashipalya. If there's a wedding going on at the mantap, the whole street gets packed with cars and music. Our building is more of a workshop. It smells like plastic and warm machinery most of the time. We have several machines running throughout the day, and they make a steady rhythmic sound that you get used to after a while. The floor is concrete and has some stains from years of work. We don't have a lot of fancy office space, just a small corner with a table and a couple of chairs where we do the paperwork. Most of our time is spent on our feet, checking the molds and making sure the products are coming out right. We wear work clothes that usually get a bit dirty by the end of the shift. There’s a small sink in the back for washing up. We keep a stack of crates by the door ready for the morning pickup. It’s hard work, especially when it gets hot in the summer, but we just get on with it. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time and everyone knows what we do here. It’s not glamorous but it’s what we know. We just try to get the orders done and keep the machines running without too much trouble.
