We are over at 698 in the Old Lajpat Rai Market. It gets really crowded here in Delhi, especially on weekends when everyone is out looking for something to wear. We spend most of our mornings just opening up the shutters and getting the dust off the racks because this part of town is quite old and busy. There is always noise from the street, people shouting and rickshaws going by. It’s a lot to handle sometimes, but we have been here for a good while now. We mostly handle different types of clothes, trying to keep up with what people are asking for these days. It’s not a big fancy showroom or anything like that. Just a regular shop where we try to get things right. Sometimes the shipments are late or the tea guy forgets our order, but that is just how things go around here. We have stacks of stuff everywhere and sometimes it’s hard to find a specific size right away if we are busy. We just keep at it day after day. My cousin helps out when it gets really packed. We don't really do much advertising. People just walk in because they are already in the market for other stuff. It’s a simple way of living and working. We stay open until late evening most days because that’s when the crowd really picks up. It’s tiring but it’s what we do.
