La Bites

La Bites is on Plot No 450 in Dr Mukerjee Nagar. It’s a student area, so things are always moving fast. We opened up here because there are so many hostels around. We serve basic food. Nothing that would win an award, just stuff people want to eat when they're hungry. We have a few tables and some chairs that don't quite match. We don't mind. The walls could use a new coat of paint, maybe next year. We stay open pretty late because students study all night. They come in looking tired and we give them something hot. We don't have a big kitchen staff. It’s just a few of us. We do the cooking, the cleaning, and the billing. It gets stressful when ten people walk in at once. We just handle it one by one. There’s no secret to what we do. We just buy the ingredients from the local market and cook them. We don't have a social media page. If people like it, they tell their friends. That’s enough for us. Dr Mukerjee Nagar is a loud place with all the coaching centers. Our shop is just one small part of that. We’re just here to work and make a living. It’s not a big corporate thing. It’s just a small shop on a plot where we spend most of our time. We aren't trying to change the world, just feeding folks who need a meal.
