If you’ve ever been down near the Shastri Nagar Metro Station, you’ve probably walked past us. We are located at Plot No.E2/189 in Shastri Nagar, and it’s usually quite loud around here. Steel isn’t exactly a quiet business. We spend most of our time moving heavy pipes and sheets around the floor. It’s a lot of physical work, and our clothes usually end up covered in metal dust by lunch. We’ve been at this spot for years, watching the metro trains go by overhead every few minutes. The noise is something you just get used to after a week or two. Our shop isn't much to look at, just a sturdy space with a lot of heavy inventory piled up. We don't spend money on fancy signs because people around here already know where we are. When a truck comes in to unload, the whole street gets a bit cramped, but the neighbors are mostly okay with it. We handle a lot of different orders, some big and some just for a single piece of steel. It’s practical work. My hands are usually calloused, and there’s always a smell of iron in the air. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down, making sure everything is stacked right for the next morning. It’s just how we earn our living in this busy corner of Delhi, keeping the steel moving for whoever needs it.
