Krishna Iron Store

Krishna Iron Store is easy to find because we are at B-941 in Shastri Nagar, right near the metro station. You can see the trains going past every few minutes. It's a very busy spot. We sell iron in different shapes and sizes. The storage area is full of heavy rods and pipes. Moving them around is a lot of work, and we all have to pitch in. It’s not the kind of place where you can keep your clothes clean for long. We get all sorts of customers, from big contractors to guys just needing a few pieces for a home repair. The dust from the iron gets everywhere, so we are always cleaning the counters. We have a small counter at the front where we handle the cash and the bills. There’s usually a bit of a line in the morning. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that on the wall. We just sell iron. The metro station makes it convenient for people to find us, but the noise is something you have to get used to. We usually have the radio playing in the background to drown out the city sounds. Sometimes we run out of a certain size and have to wait for the truck to bring more. It’s just how it goes in this business. We’ve been part of the Shastri Nagar community for years and know most of the regulars by name.
