Kitty Arts & Crafts

Our little shop is tucked away at 1246/1 in Chah Rahat, right by the Jama Masjid. It is a very old part of Delhi and the streets are so narrow that you can’t even get a car down most of them. We do a lot of traditional handiwork and crafts here. It’s the kind of stuff that takes a lot of time and patience. The building we are in is quite old and the stairs are steep and a bit uneven. We have piles of fabric and wood and metal bits everywhere. It might look like a mess to someone else, but we know where everything is. The name Kitty Arts & Crafts was something we just liked, nothing more to it than that. We spend our days working with our hands. You can hear the call to prayer from the masjid while we work, and it’s a very familiar sound to us. We don't have any fancy brochures. People usually hear about us from someone else or they just stumble upon the shop while walking through the market. It’s a lot of hard work and the lighting isn't always the best, but we've been here for a long time. We just keep doing what we know how to do, making small things for people to buy.
