Our yard is located at 69 G T Karnal Road, right in the Rajasthan Udyog Nagar area. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s mostly about industrial work and heavy transport. There is always a layer of dust on everything because of the trucks moving in and out of the industrial estate. We deal with steel, so the place is full of heavy beams, pipes, and sheets stacked up. It’s noisy here, with the sound of metal clanging and cranes moving things around. It’s not the kind of place you’d want to wear a nice suit to work. We spend our days measuring out orders and loading up flatbed trucks. The sun hits the metal in the summer and makes the whole yard feel like an oven. In the winter, the cold steel is freezing to touch. G T Karnal Road is always packed with traffic, especially the big long-haul trucks heading north. We’ve been in this spot for years and the rhythm of the industrial area is just part of our lives now. We drink a lot of chai and talk to the drivers while they wait for their loads. It is hard work and the hours can be long, but that is just the nature of the steel trade. We don't have a fancy office, just a small cabin with a desk and some old chairs where we handle the billing and the manifests.
