Kanodia Saree Art is found at number 605 in Gali Ghanteshwar, which is part of Katra Neel in Chandni Chowk. If you know the area, you know how busy and cramped the lanes can be. It’s a real experience just walking through the market to find us. Our shop is quite old and doesn't have many modern features. We sit on the floor on white sheets, which is the traditional way of doing business in this part of Delhi. There isn't a lot of room for anything else. The walls are lined with boxes of sarees, and sometimes they are stacked so high you can barely see the ceiling. It’s a very different world inside the katra compared to the main roads. The noise of the market is always there, but it feels a bit filtered by the old stone walls. We’ve been here for many years, following the same routine every day. We don't have a website or do any social media. People find us by walking through the gali or because their families have shopped with us before. It’s a very personal way of doing things. We take our time with each person who comes in. Sometimes we have tea and just talk for a while. It’s not about being the fastest or the most modern shop. It’s about being part of the history of Chandni Chowk and keeping the old ways going as best as we can.
