J.R. & Sons Foods

J.R. & Sons Foods is our family business situated in the middle of Nya Bazar. We are on the second floor of Plot No. 2656/57, not too far from the busy Chandni Chowk area. It’s a very crowded part of the city, and getting up to our office can be a bit of a climb with all the boxes around. We deal with food products and spend most of our time on the phone or talking to suppliers who come up the stairs. The office is small and filled with the smell of different spices and grains we handle. It’s definitely not a corporate environment. There are stacks of invoices on the desks and samples of food items scattered around. We’ve been in this market for a long time, so we know how things work here. It’s noisy outside with the rickshaws and the crowds, but that’s just life in Nya Bazar. We don't have any fancy mission statements or marketing plans. We just buy and sell food items and try to make a little bit of profit to keep the family going. It’s a lot of work keeping track of what is coming in and what is going out. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic, but we always find a way to get the orders delivered. We just keep our heads down and stay busy from morning till night, every single day we are open.
