Hrihaan Steel Industries

We've been at Shahabad Daulatpur for a while now. It's right near Delhi Technological University, which is easy to find if you're in the village area. We deal with steel at Hrihaan Steel Industries. Mostly we just get on with the daily job. It gets busy here, especially with all the movement around the university and the extension. People come in looking for specific cuts or pieces, and we try to get it sorted as quickly as we can. Sometimes the traffic out here on the extension road is a headache, but we’re used to it. The workshop isn't anything fancy, just a place where we do the welding and cutting. My cousin helps out some days when there's a big load. We handle a lot of different orders, some small stuff for houses and some bigger bits for builders. It's loud because of the machines, but that's just how it is with steel work. We start early most mornings to beat the heat. If you walk past the village extension, you’ll probably hear the grinders going. We don't have a big office or anything, just the space where the metal sits. Most of the people who come here are locals or contractors who’ve known us for years. We just keep our heads down and finish the piles of work. It’s dusty and there’s always scraps on the floor, but we clear it out when we can. We stay here, we work, and we go home.
