Harbans Lal Foods

At Harbans Lal Foods, we are located in Majlis Park at A-57. It’s a residential area mostly, so we see the same faces all the time. Our space is filled with various food products, usually things that are packaged up and ready to go onto someone’s shelf. We spend a lot of time checking the dates on the packets and making sure nothing is sitting around for too long. The building is an older one and it has its quirks, like a door that sticks in the monsoon and a few cracks in the floor tiles. We don't really mind it though. It’s home for the business. We handle a lot of the heavy lifting ourselves, moving boxes from the delivery trucks into the storage area in the back. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy lighting or mirrors. It’s just shelves and bags and the sound of the calculator clicking. We try to keep things organized but sometimes when a big shipment comes in, there are boxes everywhere for a few hours. That’s just part of the job. Most of our day is spent talking to the local shopkeepers who come to pick up their supplies. We’ve been here in Majlis Park for years and we just keep doing what we’ve always done, one day at a time without any fuss or unnecessary changes to our ways.
