Our place is at 435, Civil Lines. It’s a pretty old-school area, and we like the vibe here. Grehni Vyanjan started because we wanted to do something with traditional recipes that we grew up with. We aren’t a fancy corporation with a marketing department. It’s just us in the kitchen, making sure things taste right before they go out. We spend a lot of time sourcing the right ingredients, sometimes driving around for hours to find exactly what we need. The building we’re in has high ceilings and it feels like a real home. We don’t use a lot of big machines; a lot of it is done by hand. It takes longer that way, but we think it’s better. There are days when things go wrong, like a batch getting burnt or a delivery being late, but we just deal with it. We don’t have a polished website with professional photos or anything. What you see is what you get with us. We’re just regular folks who enjoy cooking and sharing that with others. Civil Lines is a nice place to work from, even if the traffic gets a bit much during rush hour. We’ve got our regulars who know where to find us. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just focusing on the food and making sure the jars are clean. We don't talk about visions or goals, we just get on with it.
