Everest Steel Industries

If you ever come down to Sector 5 in the Bawana Industrial Area, you will find Everest Steel Industries at G 7. It is a noisy place, mostly because of the heavy machinery and the sound of metal hitting metal all day long. We started here because there was enough space for the kind of heavy work we do. Steel is not easy to work with, it is heavy and stubborn, but we have gotten used to it over the years. Our floor is always covered in tiny metal shavings, and you have to be careful where you step. Usually, the morning starts with a lot of shouting to get the cranes and the cutters ready. We don’t have fancy offices or air conditioning; we just have our work benches and the big rolling doors that stay open to let some air in. Bawana is a busy area, lots of trucks coming in and out, making the roads dusty. Lunchtime is the only quiet hour we get. We sit together, eat our tiffins, and maybe talk about the news or just sit in silence for a bit. Dealing with steel takes a toll on the body, so by the time we pack up in the evening, everyone is pretty tired. We aren't trying to change the world, just doing the jobs that come our way. It’s a simple life, focused on getting the measurements right and making sure the steel looks okay before it leaves the gate. Most days are long, but we just keep going.
