About Durga Handloom Emporium – Fashion & Trends in North Delhi
We have our shop at Kingsway Camp, specifically Shop No 2007 on Outram Line. It’s a place where you’ll find piles of fabric, bedsheets, and hand-woven cloths stacked all the way to the ceiling. The air always smells a bit like cotton and dye. We’ve been in this location for many years, and the shop has a lot of history in its walls. People come to us when they want something that isn't made by a machine in a big factory. We have a lot of different patterns and colors, and sometimes it takes a while to find the exact piece someone is looking for under all the other layers. We don't mind the mess, it shows we have plenty of variety. Most of our day is spent unfolding things for customers to see and then folding them back up neatly afterward. It’s a lot of work on the arms, but we are used to it by now. The Outram Line area is usually bustling, so we get a lot of foot traffic from people just passing by. We like to sit out front when it’s not too busy and watch the world go by. It’s a traditional kind of business, and we don't see any reason to change how we do things. We just provide good cloth and a friendly face to whoever comes in. It's what we've always done and we plan to keep at it.
