Azad Market is always a bit of a nightmare with the traffic, but we’ve been at Diamond Potteries for a long time now. We are up on the first floor on Library Road, right in the middle of all the noise. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs with boxes of pottery, and sometimes things break, which is just part of the job. Our office at 10138 is usually filled with papers and samples of different plates and bowls. We have a few people who have been working with us for over ten years, so we’re more like a small family than a big company. It gets really crowded in the lane outside, especially when the delivery rickshaws are trying to get through. We spend most of our time on the phone talking to suppliers or checking the stock in the back room. It isn’t a very quiet place to work, but you get used to the shouting and the horns after a while. Most of the people who buy from us have been coming here since my uncle ran the place. We don't really do much advertising because everyone in the market already knows where we are. We just try to get the orders out on time and make sure the packing is done right so nothing cracks on the way to the customer. It’s a busy life here in Delhi.
